SMARTΒΙΝ Πλατφόρμα – Εφαρμογή Διασύνδεσης και Διαχείρισης Έξυπνου Κάδου από Ανακυκλώσιμα Υλικά

SHORT DESCRIPTION In order to improve waste management, the construction of a new smart bin made of recyclable materials is proposed. A number of sensors will be added to the SMARTBIN to measure the distance from the surface of the waste, thus calculating the average level. This way we will know at which height the waste is located. The sensors will be built into the bin to prevent vandalism and theft. Also, the bin will be made of highly durable recyclable materials and it will be possible to replace a damaged part rather than the entire bin. EI-EDUROBOT Εκπαιδευτικό Ρομπότ με συναισθηματική νοημοσύνη

SHORT DESCRIPTION The aim of the research project is to create an educational robot for students aged 4 to 9 years old, but given the use of linux it can be used by older people as well, giving them more possibilities. The purpose of this educational robot is to familiarize the user with new technology and robots and at the same time to educate, entertain and develop specific skills. The educational robot named EI-EDUROBOT (Emotional Intelligence Educational Robot) will be able to perform pre-designed scenarios for subjects such as physics, mathematics, computer science, environment, etc. at a very low acquisition cost. An important innovation of this proposal is that it proposes a flexible, general purpose educational robot that will inherently support teaching scenarios in the field of special education, as the robot will be equipped with sensory instruments and will have pre-installed specific scripts that will help children with disorders mainly of the autistic spectrum, characterized by deficit social skills. Using the scripts of the robot, children will be helped in the development of Emotional Intelligence, both typically developing children and children with social type disorders, focusing mainly on Empathy. BRIDGE

In today’s world, the generation gap is constantly widening. On the one hand, young people are not interested in getting involved in volunteering for problems related to the elderly. On the other hand, ageing and subsequent related diseases such as dementia have been stigmatised by our society. Because of their cognitive decline, people suffering from dementia are socially excluded. Young people could play an important role in combating the stigma of people with dementia. Thus, as part of our proposed project activities, we are trying to involve young people as volunteers and with their help to design new games aimed at eliminating the stigma surrounding dementia and related disorders.
